Sandde 2.1 Installation Guide
4
If there is any lag in your optical wand, the first setup is to go back through the Wand’s Calibration
Wizard. You will find it in the Preferences Tab>Inputs>Controls>Wand.
If you have been running the Camera Wand for a long time and notice that the lights have lost
their brightness, it is time to recharge/replace the batteries.
Customizing Configuration
If you are not using the default hardware setup (Razer Hydra as your 3D tracker), you will need to customize
your settings. This can be done manually or using a Sandde Mapping and Configuration File (.SMAC).
Manually
By deleting or adding controls and mapping them to the various functions, you can completely customize what
controllers you are using and what functions they are mapped to. Normally, a user would start with the default,
and change the configuration as needed. See chapter 8, “Customizing Hardware”, in the Sandde User Guide for
more information.
SMAC Files (recommended)
A Sandde Mapping and Configuration file (.smac) is essentially a text file that defines and maps inputs (such as
buttons, sliders or knobs) on hardware devices to software functions within Sandde. SMAC files are a quick way
to import a complete configuration that integrates multiple devices - including Hotkeys and Scripts - along with
all relevant mappings. Certain devices will need to be configured through their own drivers using pre-set files
before they can work with a Sandde configuration.
You can use Sandde without a .smac file, but you must use them if you want to save, import, export or merge
your configuration state.
To import a .smac file:
Go to Preferences > Input. To the right you will see options for your configuration.
Click Import Configuration OR Merge Configuration as required. Importing a configuration will
overwrite your current state and replace it with the one described in the smac file. Merging will add
the incoming controls to your current configuration. If a control with the same name as an existing
control is being merged, it will overwrite and replace the existing one.
Browse for the .smac file that contains your configuration.
Click OK.
Sandde is Installed and Configured
